Mary-Jane Watson

Chapter 3 by Throne65

Peter straightened himself out as he knocked on Mary Jane's door. He didn't know why he was so nervous. The two had known grown up together since they were kids. So why couldn't he act like a man around her? Or tell her that he was Spider-Man?

Mary Jane answered the door almost immediately, as if she were expecting him. "Hey Pete! What's up?"

"Um...do you want to hang out tonight?" Peter asked. "Like, at Central Park?"

Mary Jane smiled. "Sure! Let me get changed!"

Peter didn't feel his anxiety leave when she agreed. Nor did his tension leave when she came out in tight jeans, a tube top, and a denim jacket. He wondered if she was trying to tease him.

The two walked the short distance to the park. Mary Jane kept smiling as they walked along the path. "Wow, this was a perfect night for a walk, Pete! I think a full moon's going to be out tonight. Won't that be a view from here!"

Peter couldn't take it anymore. He suddenly took Mary Jane off the path towards the trees. He turned around to face her and took a deep breath. "Listen, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. For a long time."

Mary Jane raised an eyebrow. "What is it, Pete? You can tell me anything."

Peter took a deep breath to calm himself before he told the love of his life his most precious secret. "I'm Spider-Man."

Mary Jane blinked once. Then again. Then laughed. She laughed so hard that Peter wondered if people would come over to see what the commotion was. "That's a good one, Peter! You always had the best jokes!"

This was going to be trickier than he thought. Peter pressed his fingers to his palm and shot out a web into the nearest tree. Mary Jane jumped back and gasped in shock.

"Y-Y-You're really him? You're Spider-Man?!"

"Yeah...I am."
