Marvel and/or DC

Let's start with a classic of merging. The world of comics. Marvel and DC have done a canon version of our story, Amalgam Comics where their heroes and villains were merged together in various ways. They had a character called Access who could perform merging of characters as well.

But even if you don't want a connection to that event, there is more then one way to perform the same without it. From super-science to magic to cosmic forces, any number of ways could merge the people together into a new form.
