Marukka's fate

By the time the darkness cleared, Hannah and Gertrude were now standing in a fairly large room. There were many satanic drawings and items strewn across the floor and even around the room as well.

Then, they saw a blonde woman, wearing only a black robe, walking towards the circle. Once she was in the center, she quickly disrobed.

"Is that Wendy?" Hannah asked.

"That's right," was Gertrude's response.

Wendy got on her knees, and after briefly looking through the same book Gertrude had in the library, she spoke. "Oh, great Satan! I have been hearing your requests for more fresh victims for you to plunder, and now I feel as though I am ready to sacrifice myself... just for you!"

With her right arm outward, she took out a dagger from the floor and began cutting her arm. As blood trickled down, she added, "This is the blood of a beautiful creature that you so crave every day, and now I must shed more!"

Hannah's eyes widened as she could only watch as Wendy resumed cutting apart her skin, this time across her stomach. She performed this same action on her chest, her thighs, and even her neck.

Blood was now coating her body as she exclaimed, "Oh, great Satan! Now I am ready for your arrival! Take me, fuck me, do whatever you want with me!"

The blood-soaked woman soon saw a bright red light in front of her before a demonic entity emerged. He brought one of his claws to her neck and held her up by it.

"You have become a very faithful follower of mine, and now you must sacrifice yourself to prove your loyalty," he told her.

His burly claw raked into her neck as Wendy's pupils dilated and more blood spilled out from her. She had also managed a weak smile out of loyalty before she found herself immobile and unable to breathe.

Before long, deep red flames encased her body, before they were both engulfed completely by them. This left Hannah and Gertrude as the only ones remaining.

"This... this happened to Marukka?" Hannah asked.

"Exactly. Now," she replied, before being brought back to the library.

Upon returning, Gertrude added, "You must burn this book, and if you're looking for someone who can help, look no further than Cain."

Hannah nodded before she concluded, "Even if you defeat Marukka, the tournament will still continue."

"Don't worry, I think I got them to deal with her themselves."

"And yet, no one has taken a Pact of Sin; luckily, someone else would be more than happy to take over your old duties once they have their hands on the mirror. Other than that, go forth and confront her at once," Gertrude commanded.

Just as Hannah was ready to leave, Gertrude noticed the amulet around her neck. "Oh, and by the way... that was the amulet Marukka wore around her neck when she sacrificed herself."

She gasped before she quickly fled Lucifer's Library.

Back at the Killing Grounds, Hannah had contacted Cain, and he noticed the book. He asked, "What about it?"

"You must burn this. It's possibly necessary to provoke Marukka," she replied.

Cain shrugged before he poured gasoline on the book once it was lying on the floor. Lighting up a match, he soon dropped it onto the book, instantly catching fire.

Hannah smiled before telling him, "Thanks."

"No problem. It seems you're wanting to go after her on your own," he replied. "You might need this along the way, too," he added as he brought her an axe.

Taking the axe with a nod, Hannah would then exit the Killing Grounds. There, she would face off against Marukka by herself.

Having arrived at the temple of the Goddess of Secrets, Hannah held her axe close to her. She also had on a brave expression as she began approaching Marukka.

This prompted the woman with bronze-green skin and blonde hair in disarray to ask, "So, you challenge me, futile human? Funny that you're from another dimension, not to mention you're wearing my old amulet."

"Miss Gertrude told me so," Hannah replied. "Now... I'm ready to kick your ass!" she added.
