Marie makes a tactical decision.

"Go, I won't make it there in time!" commanded Marie, her rig closing up tight as she moved towards the officers quarters. The swarming creatures covered ground quickly, and Marie barely made it past the command door before they could group up on her. Dark from a nearby electrical error, the quarters broke out into a long corridor, with bedrooms on either side. Activating her rig light, Marie scanned the area for any immediate threats. The swarming creatures were apparently still busy on the bridge, and Marie would be fine waiting them out here. A crackling on her comm let her know that Samson was attempting to reach her, but the signal strength here was much too low for his comm to reach her.

Her laser cutter in hand, Marie slowly stalked down the corridor, her eyes darting from shadow to shadow. She would need to be extra careful here, as the darkness could conceal one of the creatures very easily. Reaching the end of the corridor with little issue, Marie noticed the last bedroom was the captains quarters. Locked with a normal digital lock, Marie got to work and it open in no time.

The bedroom was your average stateroom, with a nice bunk and dresser for personal effects. The captain received his own bathroom, which itself was rather mundane. A few picture hung around the quarters, showing the captain and his prized dog. Marie thought nothing of it as she moved through the room quickly. Finding nothing of great help, she turned towards the door to leave when something caught her eye. A datapad had been wedged between the bed and the wall, presumably to keep away from prying eyes. Quickly accessing it, Marie read the datapad with sickening realization.

Stardate: 20**

"We received the artifact today and we are so excited to be carrying it. I had to argue and fight with the senior leaders, but they finally relented. We will be carrying this great alien artifact to its permanent resting place! The rest of the crew have not been told of this, and I resolve to not tell them. They would not understand its importance. Bad luck seems to be following us however. Once we left the colony, we lost contact with them shortly after. Im sure it was communications related on their side. Regardless, we are well on our way!"

Marie couldn't believe it. An alien artifact onboard the ship? The realization of these creatures origin made Marie both scared and even more nauseated. She wasn't giving much time to think it over however. A low-level growling caused Marie to snap out of her thought process, and her eyes locked with a creature that was down the hall. Very low to the ground and very muscle-bound, the creature resembled some sort of dog. As if noticing her awareness, three large tentacles exploded from the back of the creature, and it let off a horrific howl.

Bolting towards Marie in an incredibly terrifying dash, Marie had to make a split second decision. Fight the creature or slam the captains door shut?
