Chapter 3 by lostandfound

Who are you, or what group are you in?

Mandy and Martha Marx

Mandy and Martha Marx were setting up tables for the food at the reception. Mandy, the older sister, shook her long red hair and said, “Can you believe those dresses the bridesmaids are wearing?”

“I know,” replied Martha. She rolled her bright blue eyes. “Lime green chiffon and white lace…they look like rejects from some Irish step dance troop.”

With the last table set up, Mandy looked at her watch. “Three hours to go. Everything seems to be going smoothly for once. Do you want to ask chef Hastings if he needs any help?”

“Oh yeah, like I’m going to ask him. Remember the Phillips retirement party? He chased me out of the kitchen with a ladle full of bisque!”

Mandy laughed, “Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that! He’s kind of a short fuse, isn’t he?”

“I think that he likes you.” Martha said. “He seems to scream a little less when he knows you’re around.”

“Oh shut up you.” Mandy replied with a grin. “We’ve got some time to kill, want to walk around for a bit?”

“Sure.”

The two sisters walked out into the garden where the wedding ceremony was going to take place. Two hundred chairs were set up facing a large white lattice arch that stood in front of a fountain. Mandy said, “Wow, this is fantastic. It’s so beautiful.”

Martha replied “Not as beautiful as the bride. I saw her in her dress…she is so damn hot. The groom is going to have a fantastic honeymoon. I wish that…”

Her sister groaned and interrupted her, “No. Don’t start that again. I keep telling you, just because you kissed one girl in college, that doesn’t make you a lesbian.”

Martha scoffed, “Well, how else to explain the fact that I haven’t been able to keep a boyfriend?”

“Oh, I don’t know.” Replied Mandy sarcastically, “Maybe because after the second date you start to redecorate their places.”

“Gary said he wanted my help, so I offered it!”

They stopped arguing as a stunningly handsome man walked up the aisle. He stood about six foot one and the snug T-shirt he was wearing seemed to accent every one of his lean, hard muscles. Waves of light brown hair sat atop a flawless, high cheek boned face. A tiny layer of stubble gave him a rugged masculinity that made the girls weak in the knees.

He smiled, “Excuse me ladies, I think I dropped my wallet out here at the dress rehearsal. Have either of you seen it by any chance?”

Mandy responded, “Uh, no, but we’d be happy to help you look for it.”

Martha nodded enthusiastically, “More that happy!”

Martha and Mandy took one side of the aisle and the man took the other. The two girls started to look for the wallet, but soon found themselves staring at the man’s rear while he bent over to look under some chairs.

Mandy kneaded her fingers into the chair back she was leaning against. “Look at that ass.” She whispered to her sister.

”What do you think I’ve been doing?” Martha replied in a low voice.

“Still think you’re a lesbian?”

“I might be bi-sexual.”

The man stood up and the two women quickly looked down and pretended to be looking for the wallet.

“Who is he?” asked Martha.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him before.”

“He said he took part in the dress rehearsal. Is he the best man?”

“He sure as hell is the best man I’ve ever seen.”

“I think I’m going to ask him who he is.” Martha said.

Mandy looked up at her sister, “Not before I do!” She whispered harshly. As the two argued with each other, the man walked over and said, “Thanks girls, I found it under a chair, it must have somehow gotten kicked under it”

Who does what next?
