Make their way to the school

“So that’s my plan,” Makoto said. “Go to the school, grab my key, then go home.” Once she got there, she figured it shouldn’t take her more than a couple minutes to get her key.

“Sounds simple enough,” Ann said.

Makoto nodded. “Well anyways… thank you for inviting me out tonight, but I should get moving before it gets too much later. We’ll have to do this again sometime, preferably without the clothing trouble or theft.” Makoto moved to take a step away, and Ann grabbed her arm.

“Um, excuse me,” Ann said. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Makoto looked at Ann bewildered. “Going to the school?”

“Not alone you’re not,” Ann said. “I’m coming too.”

“No, Ann, I can’t make you do that,” Makoto said. “You’ve already done enough for me, and it’s already getting late.”

“Exactly why I’m not letting you go alone,” Ann said. “It’s getting late, you don’t have your keys, your phone or any money. What if your key isn’t there or you can’t get in? What were you planning on doing then?” Makoto grew quiet, looking at her friend’s determined expression. “Exactly. At the very least, I’m going to make sure you get your key and get home safely.”

“I… thank you, Ann.”

“Don’t mention it,” Ann beamed, sliding her hand down Makoto’s arm and into her hand. “Now, let’s get moving. Time’s a wasting!” Ann tugged her along, racing toward the station. Makoto was dragged for a few feet until she decided to match pace with Ann. When the two girls arrived at the platform, they were panting, bent over with their hands on their knees.

The station was sparsely populated, but their abrupt entrance still turned heads. Noticing the attention, Makoto tried to compose herself, standing up straight. All they had to do was wait for the train to arrive.
