Make a move

You take a deep breath and try to stay relaxed. If you let him know you're awake, you know you have no chance.

As fast as you can, you suddenly arch your back and thrust your legs apart.

It works. He drops you, letting out a surprised roar.

You kick at his head as you get up, and then start stumbling down the path.

You realize within seconds that you have made the worst mistake of your life. You scream as the man barrels into you from behind and starts pounding you mercilessly.

When you wake up, you are aching from head to toe, and you cannot move. You soon realize this is because you are wrapped in multiple vines binding your legs together in several places and your arms to your sides. As the rest of your senses begin to focus, you hear the crackling of a sizeable fire and you smell smoke.

"Help!" you try to shout, but all that comes out is a weak, raspy groan.

The man suddenly comes into view. He glares down at you, snarling.

"Please, please," you beg him. "I'm sorry...I'll do anything...just please let me go...please don't hurt me!"

But he clearly does not understand a thing you are saying, and just as clearly, it would not matter even if he did.

He stalks over to you and picks you up easily, grabbing the tight vines around your chest and thighs. You scream in protest as he walks you over toward the roaring fire, where you see what looks like a charred pig on a pike jutting over the fire. There is another, larger pike, driven into the ground next to this one, empty and waiting to cook some more game.

Your own screams are the last things you hear as he lifts you over his head, and then violently swings your body downward toward the pike.
