Madeline felt confident that the coming fight would be one that Goodsprings could handle. Madeline had gotten some help, not all of it so easily.

A few days passed as final preparations were made. The citizens of Goodsprings that Trudy and Sunny could gather together lay in wait, taking shifts to not exhaust themselves. They knew the trouble was coming and soon.

Eventually a sentry came panting into the Prospector Saloon "Powder Gangers" he sighed gasping for breath "dozens of em."

The stage had been set and everyone rushed to their places. Makeshift barracades had been errected to provide cover. Farmers with various equipment huddled behind whatever they thought could stop bullets.

Thanks to Easy Pete's dynamite traps were put around likely avenues of approach with various methods of detonoation--some slow burning fuses, some electronically fired, some set with tripwires. The Powder Gangers would be in for a warm welcome.

As the Powder Gangers began to rove up in a disorganized group, Joe Cobb led the way. Ringo did the honors of setting off the first explosive device. With a massive boom and shock wave the first ranks of the Powder Gangers disappeared into a cloud of smoke, sand, and gore. Then everyone opened fire. The Powder Gangers were caught off guard and were being cut down in droves. They hadn't expected resistance, but they got a double portion. Those brave enough to advance often met the fate of the first victims--**** by dynamite booby traps.

The last few stragglers managed to make a break for it and scattered to the wind. Goodspringers let enough flee that tales would be told in order to instill a sense of fear among the bandits of the area to not mess with Goodsprings. While it took lots of bullets luckily there were plenty of dead; Madeline was able to retrieve a few caps off the bodies of the Powder Gangers (Lost some Combat. Got +75Caps).
