"Hey Madeline, would you like to go out for dinner with me and then back to my appartment for video games on valentines day?" you ask. Madeline's cheeks go red when you ask her and she just shyly nods her head in response. "Ok see you at 6:00 on valentines day" you reply. Madeline hands you a piece of paper with her address on it. 666 Green Avenue is all that is written on it.

6:00 pm valentines day:

You pull up to her parents house wearing a suit and bowtie while holding a single rose. You knock on the door. You wait for a while and then the door opens.

An older women is standing at the door. "Hi. Can I help you?" asks the lady in a harsh. "I was looking for Madeline James, for our date." you say scared. "Oh, you must be John Doe. I'm Helen James, come on in." says the older women in a friendly way. You shake her hand and enter into the living room.

You take a seat on the couch. "I'm sorry, I'm very defensive when it comes to strangers. Madeline will be down shortly." Helen apologises. "Is Madeline's dad home?. I would like to meet him." you ask.

"Madeline's dad died in a car crash when Madeline was seven. I am happily remarried, however it is to my wife Suki." informs Helen James trying not to cry. "I'm sorry about your loss Helen, I won't bring up Madeline's dad ever." you reply.

After about five Minutes, a Japanese lady enters the room. "Mrs James what are you do. Wait, your Madeline's stepmom." you say shocked that your gender studies lecturer is your date's stepmom. "Yes I am. And it is also why Helen has been easy on you for the past 10 minutes." says Suki.
