Lunch with mother

You enter the office, where your father says "Hey Oscar."

"Hey Boss. Monica said you needed me?"

"Sure do. Just wanted to ask if you wanted to come out for lunch with mom and I?"

"Yeah, sure." You didn't get to see your mother that often ever since you moved out, so you figure it would be good to catch up. "Anything else?"

"Nope. That's all."

"Okay then."

After sending Adela a text, you get to work, waiting for lunchtime. When that time comes, your father knocks on your door. You follow him to his car and let him drive you to Mugged Coffee House. That's where you find your mother waiting. The slender woman is sporting a new, shoulder-length haircut and a huge smile. As soon as you leave the car, she gives you a tight, embarrassing hug that is topped off with a sloppy kiss.

"How are you dear?" She says.

"Good." You reply.

Your mother and father then share a kiss, before you follow them inside to a table. Once you're seated, your mother asks "So, what's new with you?"

"Well, there's Adela..."

"Oh, the new girlfriend?"

"Yeah."

"Do tell."

"Well, I mean so far so good. She's nice, and fun to be around and all that. What more can I say?"

"What does she do for work?"

"Uhh..." You try your best to summon the answer Adela gave you. "Freelance something."

"Oh, okay. Sounds... interesting. She live on her own?"

"Yeah."

"Well, we'd love to meet her."

"Sure would." Your father adds.

"Maybe we could go out for dinner this weekend?"

"Sounds good to me."

"I'll have to check with her."

Your mother looks to your father before saying "Well, we can go out either way, can't we dear?"

"I guess we can."

The three of you proceed to eat lunch before going back to work. Once your workday is over, you head to the grocery store and stock up on everything you need. With a desire to head over to Adela's, you whip up a quick dinner, before finally sending a text to her:

'Okay, im heading over now'

'YAY!'
