Lt. T'Pak, Ensign Jim Wilkerson and Petty Officer Tom Wilson

 Tom walked in to find the lab already occupied by three people. Ensign Wilkerson was a fair-skinned red head with a ready smile and hair that was just a hair shy of being non-regulation. Petty Officer Tom Wilson was a scientist's mate in his early-thirties with prematurely graying hair buzzed short, grey eyes, fair skin and a squat, solid build. It was Lt. T'Pak, though, that caught Tom's eyes. Caught wasn't actually the appropriate phrase. It took all of Tom's willpower not to stare. Black-skinned Vulcans were fairly rare. One of Lt. T'Pak's stunning beauty must have been a phenomonal rarity. She was 1.6 meters high with a statuesque build, brown eyes, and dark hair that went almost to her shoulders. Though her hair style might have been borderline un-Vulcan, her demeanor was crisply Vulcan.

 Lt. T'Pak made general introductions, and immediately cut to business. Two weeks prior to Tom coming aboard the Potemkin, a geological survey team had come across a very usual substance. The substance in question seemed to exist in more spatial dimensions than the three easily observable ones. Tests so far were inconclusive. With Tom's addition to the team, the team would be split into two parts. Two of them would work in the lab, while the other two would scour the results they had obtained so far.
