Loud sound from down the hallway

BANG! Melissa hears a slamming sound coming from a room down the hallway. Her breath quickens and her heart starts to race. She is alone at home, a storm seems to be brewing outside, and the sound really startled her. Getting up to check it out, the leggy tease strides into the hallway, as she does she feels a cool rush of air racing past her long, smooth, hose clad legs. The coolness increases the further she gets down the hall, until she sees her open bedroom door, and catches a glimpse of a broken window! She gasps softly, and is momentarily frozen in place.

Part of her wants to go see what caused the broken window, another part thinks that could be dangerous. She decides on a middle ground, silently and swiftly, she retrieves her cell phone from her purse and dials her friend Beth.

“Beth??” Melissa says in a hushed tone, “Beth, it’s me…I just got home and my bedroom window is broken and I don’t know what caused it…”

Her friend Beth, a lovely blonde Melissa had known for years, interrupted her. “Wait- the window is broken and you are still in the house and you don’t know if someone else is there??? What are you thinking?!” Beth asks her friend incredulously.

Reality sinks in for Melissa and she gets the feel of fear in the pit of her stomach. “I don’t think anyone else is…..” she pauses midsentence at the sight of a shadow on the wall at the end of the hallway. “…here” she finishes her sentence in a whisper as Beth starts frantically asking if she is okay.

Running through Melissa’s mind are Beth’s frantic words asking what is wrong, the impulse to just run out of the house, and other thoughts filled with fear.
“Melissa! Melissa?!” Beth calls to her on the phone “You want me to come over??”
