Look for Jackie.

On a whim you decide to head for Jackie's department. No sense in badgering Rebecca or Ms. Wu, you figure; you'll probably come across them sooner or later if last Friday's events were of any indication.

Popping in you see that half the staff doesn't seem to have turned up, having either taken the day off or left for an early lunch by forty-five minutes. Just another of the many fringe benefits, being higher up the corporate hierarchy. You shrug idly to yourself. Much as three-hour lunches were a luxury you wouldn't mind, you know you'd rather not have to deal with the daily rigmarole of cutthroat office politics.

Walking past empty offices you end up outside Jackie's, and peering in you spot her at her desk as usual. Unlike last week, she's the epitome of sultry confidence today, sporting an unbuttoned pastel yellow blouse over a dark, velvety violet top.

"Oh, hi!" she greets you brightly after a while, having noticed your presence. "I was just about to look for you, too."

"Oh?" You raise a quizzical eyebrow.

"Yeah, Ms. Wu wanted to speak to you personally. The response from the meeting were overwhelmingly positive," Jackie continues. "Between you and me, she's looking for someone to accompany her for an upcoming business trip. Besides me, that is. I've heard from her that you're the top candidate. Something about your... performance," she adds, and you notice the emphasis placed on the last word. As well as the coy glance Jackie makes at you. Does she know? you can't help wonder.

"Is that so," you muse, trying to sound nonchalant.

"Mmhmm. She wants to give you a briefing after lunch, if you've the time," nods Jackie. "She knows you've got other responsibilities. I'm about to head out for a bite myself." Taking a nice long stretch, Jackie extends her arms above your head. At once you take an equally nice, long look at her exposed cleavage in those precious seconds, before she leans forward at you, smiling serenely. "Want to join me?"
