Liz and Ginia.

“Mike, I don't want to wreck my friendship with your wife, even if you guy's split, we're good friends now.”

“Okay, so she is going to feel a bit, and I hope it is only a bit, betrayed, lets face it she has no idea of our past, she doesn't realise you're telling me all about your talks with her and as if to rub salt in the wound we know all about Paul and Leigh. Gin, I don't know what kind of relationship you'll be left with after those revelations.”

“I know M, we should maybe start planning to drop an item in a bit at a time starting with the kid's? What do you think?”

“Yep, I think that's a good start. Do you want to ask Leigh and Paul how they feel? Oh shit!, Leigh doesn't know you've been talking with her mother. Um, what do we do there?”

“Maybe you should come round tonight you know, united front and all. Throw all our cards on the table.”

“Gin, In principal I'd agree, but it will give Leigh a reality check that she may not want, she has accepted a lot over the last few days and that may just be a bit too far. No leave it at maybe letting Liz know about her and Paul, then if Liz know's then she can have an input into what she thinks the kid's should know. Maybe you're best placed to tell Liz the going's on with the kid's, but at least the kids do know what's going on.”

“Yeah sounds good M.”

“ And with Liz, Gin, let's see if we can't find a way to tell her the other bits without stuffing up your guy's relationship's.”

I realised why I wasn't stressing as much over Liz and me and it came down to Ginia, not only was she a friend for my wife but she had become a rock for myself as well. Wasn't a lot else we could do on this subject, play it as we go and as we see it.

“Okay Mike so ask me.”

“Ask you, what?”

“ASK ME what you asked me before you know, before we started talking about Liz and the kid's.”

“Oh, okay, So Gin do you want to talk about your marriage break-up?”

“Yes.” I waited, she took a big exaggerated breath, and begun, “Well it begun to come apart long before my affair but it was that that finally killed my marriage.”

Twice in one day, I'd said the same line, “Wait! what?”
