I am not that special or different. The situation of my family left me with quite some trust issues. I am not a criminal, but I haven gotten myself in some trouble over the years nevertheless. So the last time I stood in front of a judge, I almost was send off to prison, but my lawyer, Mrs Banks, managed to negotiate a deal. I will have to finish school and regularly check in with the court so they can monitor my progress and behavior. I will live with the Sanders family, who are friends with my lawyer. My “new family” presents me with some challenges and I'm not sure if I can handle them.

Nancy Doe's life didn't went well. After the father of her two children (John and Julie) died over ten years ago, she got depressed. The contact with her brother is very important to her and so far she is able to write or visit him every week.

Nowadays Brian and Malcolm are a package deal. They seem to get into trouble together all the time. He was arrested several times and only his dumb luck kept him out of lock-up.

She is my new “big sister”. On the surface she doesn't like me very much and is a grade A bitch. But sometimes she warms up to me and we can have a normal conversation. In her senior year of high school she is on the cheerleading squad and one of the most popular girls in school.

Michael goes to a nearby college and will graduate in a year. He is around at the weekends once or twice a month. We get along pretty good even though we are from quite different backgrounds. Before he met me, he was skeptical about my moving in, but chnaged his mind when he got to know me a little better. He cares for his sisters very much and is happy they have me looking out for them when he's not around.

Josh is the first friend I made outside of the Sanders family. He is quite interested in my life before I got here and he is kind of an outsider himself. Most people see him as a weirdo. But he is always fun to be around and a reliable guy.

Dana is Cassie's best friend and they're almost inseparable. At first she was awkward when I was around and maybe even a little scared. But with time she got more and more relaxed. From time to time Cassie as well as Josh hint that Dana has a crush on me.

Kelly is Sean's twin, but only in the biological sense. She is a genius-girl. Top of the class.
