Linne finds the first week in your service to be quite a lot of fun

With Linne around you now have something fun to do every morning. Doe and Linne are always curled up on the bed together, but like many housecats Linne shifts around in her sleep, either too warm too cold or perhaps dreaming of chasing something. By the time you arrive in the morning she's inevitably twisted herself into some strange position.

Whole lower body on the floor, upper torso twisted at an angle and across the bed.

Completely upside down, all four paws in the air, head hanging off the edge of the bed.

Wound up in a coil with one of Doe's legs poking through the middle like a needle through a spool of thread.

Lower body pressed against Doe, legs wrapped around her body. But her upper body? Wedged against the headboard with one arm hanging out and touching the floor.

And every time you wake Linne up she rises, often without waking Doe, and then stretches as only a cat or cataur can. Then she's ready to go, as if the crazy and uncomfortable sleeping position has provided the most restful night she's had in a while.

You got her a few tailor made outfits, a few styled like maid's outfits in your kingdom, one particularly nice dress and a few more casual and comfortable clothes. It's a lot more than what most nobles would provide for their staff. Far more than what most nobles would provide to a ****. But that's the idea - you want Doe, as well as other nobles, to know how special she is.

You also get her a selection of combs, enough different sizes to handle both the long black hair of her head and the smooth gray fur of her coat. Within a few days she (probably with Doe's help) has combed her fine fur to a shiny gloss. When she walks around the tower she's almost prancing, much like some of the centaurs after a good run.

She quickly gets the hang of the jobs you need done. With the height she can gain from walking her front paws up walls she's excellent at cleaning. She's less familiar with cooking and the magically enchanted stove and a few other complexities of your kitchen do worry her. But by the end of the first week she's got the hang of things. While you didn't really need a maid, not having to do some of these little jobs does make things a touch easier for you.

You've started getting requests from some interested parties. Even though so far Linne hasn't left the tower grounds she has been seen. Often as she burns off energy by charging around the garden. It's pretty funny when some of her more catlike instincts take over. There are a lot of nobles who are suddenly interested in improving their staff.

However the greatest achievement is to do with Doe. When you come home now Doe can't wait to be out of her room so she can give Linne a hug. It's always the first thing on her mind. You know that once Linne is done with her work she goes and sits outside Doe's room and talks to her. You even encouraged it. But now Doe has a smile on her face when you return home, because your return means she gets to hug, comb and pet her friend.
