Lina's Story

Lina had gotten home and was relieved to find it empty. Once again, she had been sent home early, this time for offending her math teacher. She had tried to argue that Mrs. Fields shouldn't go poking around in other people's private property - her latest sketch had even been titled "Mind Your Own Fucking Business," depicting a character who looked much like her teacher being violated by tentacles from behind a door marked "KEEP OUT." Neither Mrs. Fields nor the principal had appreciated the irony.

Lina had been sent home with a letter to be signed by her parents, and she was halfway through practicing a passable forgery when she heard a pair of car doors close outside. She peered through the blinds to see her sister Stacy kissing that stupid boyfriend of hers, Alex. Stacy had only just pulled away from him when her gaze turned directly towards Lina and the predatory expression had made her jump away from the window.

She knew. Someone must have called her and told her about the drawing and the letter. Lina had barely crammed her scrap paper into a drawer and slammed it shut when her sister opened the door.

"Geez, Stace! Knock before you come in! I could have been getting changed."

Stacy said nothing, standing over Lina with a sly smile that made Lina shiver.

"You're in trouble again," Stacy said.

Lina didn't see the point in lying if Stacy already knew. "Yeah."

"What for this time?"

Lina's brow furrowed. "You don't know?"

Stacy shrugged, and Lina cursed herself for being caught out so easily.

"Drawing," Lina said simply. Stacy knew about what Lina liked to draw.

"Show me," Stacy said.

Lina gaped. Stacy had always had much the same reaction to her sketches as the teachers did. Wordlessly, she took her diary out of her bag and opened it to the latest page.

Stacy studied it intently - almost hungrily - before flipping backwards through past sketches.

Lina felt a sudden, cold wave of dread as she remembered something she had drawn months ago, shortly after an argument with her sister: Stacy had called her a pervert and a worm, and Lina had decided to draw her as one while fucking the other.

As if on cue, Stacy's hand froze and she stared at one particular drawing in shock.
