We were sitting uncomfortably at the table and staring at each other. I was sipping my delicious coffee thinking what to say.

I knew that after last night I have to play this well. I couldn't afford to loose a ground if I had any chance of succeeding.
I was going to ignore her concerns, put my foot down, and demand I be respected as a husband.

"Please honey. Please. I really need you to come with me. I can't do this without you".

Begging continued for several minutes as my wife continued to lather her toast with sweet strawberry jam.

"So please will you come with me to the party?"
