"I'm all right, sweetie-pie," you say. "Why don't you just light some candles and wash up by candlelight? Some of your angels, you know?"

"Oh, all right," Mary says, brightening. "I love my angel candles, and I can light them all tonight."

You lose count at about twenty. Soon there are four tall glass-cupped candles -- the Evangelists -- in your bedroom, a few more in the kitchen, and a flight of a half-dozen angels in the bathroom.

Mary starts her shower. You've got a propane hot water heater and a full tank out back, so even with the power out, there's plenty of hot water.

"Leave the curtain open, sweetie-pie," you tell Mary. "I want to watch."

"Oh, you," Mary said. But she pulls back the shower curtain, and instead of seeing a vague dark shape through the reflections of candle flames on the clear vinyl curtain, you see Mary's nude curves in all their glory, well, all their wet, warm and flickery glory under the light of six angel candles.

"I missed you in the hospital, sweetheart," you say, tugging out your pecker.

"Didn't stop you getting in trouble with those two lady doctors," Mary huffs. "Those two lady doctors married to each other." But Mary protests gently, just for form's sake. Her eyes dart to your wiener.
