Defender gave the best laugh she could. "That belt is just an assecory. It means nothing." The Ace gave a smirk. "Well if that's the case..... he said before tossing it towards the side of the building. Defender's eyes went wide. "NO!!!" She yelled as she dove to catch the belt. She caught just as she hit the ground only to again realize that she had caught a playing card instead. "What....how did." She looked up at the Ace who was standing there swinging her belt around. "Busted." Defender got up on her knees and hung her head. "The belt is the source of my power. Without it, I am powerless." She looked up at him with pleading eyes. "Please....give it back."

Defender expected him to laugh at her but instead he smiled and held out his hand. Defender looked at it confused for a second before cautiously taking it. He pulled the heroine up to her feet before holding out the belt for her. Defender looked at him confused. "Go ahead. Take it." Defender was stunned. "Really.....?" She then narrowed her eyes. "This is another trick isn't it?" "Nope." He said before wiping the belt around her waist and yanking her into him as he snapped the buckle into place. Defender felt the power surge through her as she looked up at the thief....who's chest she was now leaning against. Blushing, she pushed away.

"What's your game Ace. Gonna **** me? Sell the information to the crimenal underworld." The theif just chuckled and shook his head. "YOu've got me all wrong dear Defender. I'm a thief, not some common criminal. I don't do this to hurt anyone, just for fun." "Stealing is wrong no matter how you slice it pretty boy." He again laughs. "If you say so love." "STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!" She took a swing at him because he again ducked under her and backed up once he was behind her. "I thought we already established that that isn't going to do you much good." Defender turned around to take another swing at the thief but he had already vanished. "I've already figured out how I'm going steal the cards" A voice said from seemingly no where. "Feel free to stop me. If you can Love." Defender honed in on the source of the voice and found it coming from yet another playing card. Picking it up, it was the ace of hearts.

Defender blushed again. As frustrated as she was, there was something romantic about all this. Shaking those thoughts from her head, she began to consider her options. Regardless of how harmless the Phantom Ace seemed, he was still a crimenal and needed to be brought to justice. However, it was very clear he was toying with her as well. Even with her superpowers, she didn't think there was a way she could actually get the better of him. Perhaps it would be better if she just ignored him and saved herself the humiliation.
