Chapter 2

What do you do?
Levitating.
Speech only is pale and unconvincing in your case, so you decide to do something that a normal human isn’t able to perform. You cross your legs, but instead of sitting on the floor, you actually levitate in the air, which makes your upper body seeming not moved at all. “See? Modern genies don’t have blue skins, nor do we use any old fashioned lamps. My summoner in particular, is your diving watch, and I’m summoned when you turn the marker three full cycles.”
He seems shocked and his mouth is widely open, unable to say a word. I start to think if you have made it too fast when he makes his voice again, but doubtful: “I bought the watch two days ago. And how could it be your summoner?”
You drop your legs so you stand on ground again: “Well, genies don’t actually OWN the summoners, you can regard a summoner as a remote controller that magically pairs to the corresponding genie.”
“Good, so you ARE my genie, and did you call me master before?” despite what he says, his still seems doubtful in his voice.
“Yes, master.” Ever since you accepted your genie identity, you have rehearsed this scenario many times. At first you thought you weren’t actually be able to call someone as “master” easily, but once you saw your master, it becomes so natural as if calling him “master” is your born instinct. And it feels sad that your master doesn’t trust you.
“So let me guess, since my watch is brand new, does it mean that I’m your first master?”
“Yes, and sole master.” You try to explain your loyalty, “normally a genie would leave his master as soon as all the wishes were granted. But my situation is a little different. Since I have unlimited numbers of wishes to grant, I’ll be your personal genie.”
“UNLIMITED? I thought it was three, how come you have unlimited wishes? And why would I even think of releasing you?” Knowing that he has full control over you certainly pleased your master and he seems really satisfied to know that he has become the luckiest guy in the world. Yet he has one more thing to confirm: “Wouldn’t you dare to trick me from releasing you, would you?”
“No, master. Actually there’re some exceptions over the almost unlimited power of wishes. One of them is that you cannot free me by making a wish. Releasing a genie is a complex thing, and on requirement is that I still have unused wish left on the exact genie who turned me into one, which is not fulfilled by all means, so you don’t even have to worry about that, master.” And you hand a sheet of checklist to your master, “they’re the exceptions, any wish beside those are within my power.”
“Great.” You master start to smile when reading the checklist, he seems really satisfied about your honesty, “you mentioned that you’re turned into a genie, did you made that stupid wish yourself? Wait, exception No. 10: ‘you cannot wish to become a genie or turn other people into genie.’ Hmm, then how did you become a genie? Did you do something that angers your genie?”
“Well, sort of.” You feel embarrassed, so you try to avoid the topic, “but it’s a long story.”
