Chapter 3 by daciasdesire daciasdesire

Get the truck now, leave it, or...?

Leave the truck where it is for now.

Sanjay stuck his head inside the truck window and conversed with his wife in Indian. They seem to have come to some sort of conclusion when he turned to talk to Keith. "Anjali and I have talked it over and we will accept your offer of help. We can leave the car here for now and collect it later when the weather breaks," he said to Keith.

"Sure thing. I'm quite sure no one will be able to steal it anyway," Keith joked, drawing a chuckle from Sanjay. "If you would like to help Anjali to our 4WD we'll get out of the cold and back to our cabin."

Virginia kept a closer eye on Anjali as she walked towards the vehicle. She had noticed that she looked uncomfortable before but her walking only seemed to have emphasized the point. The drive back to the cabin was uneventful and at last they all arrived back safely. Virginia showed the couple the house and to a guestroom that they could stay in.

Sanjay takes Virginia aside and asks her, "Do you mind if Anjali and myself have a few moments to freshen up?"

"Of course Sanjay. There are some towels in the hall cupboard and the bathroom is just down the hall. Keith and I will fix you two something to eat, as you must be hungry also. Dinner will be ready in say... an hour," Virginia told her guest.

"Oh thank you very much. You are extremely gracious however I am sorry but we are strict vegetarians."

"I'm sure I will be able to whip something up. I have some tofu I could cook if you like," she offered.

"Thank you indeed. Now if you would excuse me," Sanjay said as Virginia leaves to start the cooking.

As the cooking filled the cabin with a lovely aroma of spiced cooking, Anjali and Sanjay emerged from their room. When she returned Anjali seemed much more at ease and was able to move about perfectly.

"Hey, there you are. We were just about to get started without you," Keith says to them.

Virginia wondered what must have been causing Anjali discomfort before but didn't say anything. Over dinner and a bottle of wine Sanjay revealed that one of the reasons they had been planning their vacation to Cave Springs was the natural baths formed by heated water coming to the surface.

That gave Keith an idea. "Sanjay, I know it's a very poor substitute for the springs but Virginia and I have a six seater spa out on the balcony. It's heated and would take about an hour to warm up in these conditions. If you wanted I could get it started and we could try to make the best of a bad situation? The contrast of hot water and cold mountain air is really invigorating and is something Virginia and I truly love."

Sanjay agreed to give it a go and Keith left to get the water heater going while the rest finished their dinners. When the water was warm and all food gone, the two couples retired to their rooms to change into something different.

What are they going to wear in the heated spa?
