Ann decided that the safest course of action was to go home for a change of clothes. ‘If I duck out before math class, I’ll be back in time for the self-study period,’ she thought. ‘Most people wouldn’t notice that I was gone.’

As she prepared to head downstairs to the exit, hoever, the bell rang. ‘Damn,’ thought Ann. Any moment now, the halls would be flooded with students returning to class.

Should Ann risk it and push through to the exit of the main building, or should she try to cross over to the practical building to use the exit with lesser traffic?
