Learning the basics

The next morning of your arrival you're on your way to your first class with Pict, and meet up with your sister and a beautiful redhead. The girl have emerald eyes and freckles on her face and shoulders, her hairs have two braided strands giving her a childish look that contrast with the dark make up around her eyes.

"Hey, Jayce, hows your room ?"

"Really fancy and comfortable !"

"I know, right ? ... This is Lola Crow, my roommate !"

"Nice to meet you ! This is Pict D'hiss, my roommate."

"Nice to meet you ! That's so cool to have a fey as a roommate ! I love your hairs !"

"Uh, thanks..."

After those presentations. The small group goes to their first class. The classroom is just a large room with some sort of tuning fork in the middle, but with four branches instead of two, the two more are perpendicular to the first like an inverted quadripod. Eight other students are already there. Two ogres, a dwarf and five humans. You join the group and short time after a catgirl joins you, running.

"Sorry, I'm late !" She says.

The girl have short white hairs and a really fluffy white tail swinging around. She jumps into the group and goes talking to a blond human girl who seems anoyed by her presence.

But you don't have really time to look into it, that a 6'6 woman come into the room. She have long white hairs, a small horn on her forhead and blue marks on her face. Typical of a blue ogre. Her clothes are fancy and far from the stern style of the school outfit.

She looks at everyone and start the class with a strong voice.

"I see we have a lot variety this year, this is good. Now, listen, I'm professor Mehara, I'm here to teach you mana control. You'll come here to the tool of mana resonance and try to concentrate mana in it. It's very easy, you'll see. Even a monkey could do it. So, who want to start ?"

"Me !" A blonde woman says.

"Okay then, put your hands on each side of the quadronance and try to feel the mana flowing through the device." The teacher explains.

The blonde woman stays a moment, concentrating, before a buzz rises. It's deep and is more something felt than heard. Then the whole room feels warm like a nice summer day.

"Good, you can stop, we could feel your fire resonance, it's well done." The teacher says.

The woman leaves and joins the group, a big smile of pride on her face.

Then two more persons tries, but barely manages to make it vibrate. This time the teacher is arsh on them for not being as good as the first.

Pict then takes the next turn and make the item called quadronance vibrate and everyone start seeing little lights of color. You feel really relaxed and joyful during that moment, until he stops.

Joya follows and her too create some effect, slightly changing for a prettier version of herself.

Lola goes after, and everyone hears dark and frightening whispers.

Finally, you go and put your hand like the other did. Closing your eyes, you try to feel something. At first it's nothing much, but then, it feels like a flow of hair, but more tangible. You try to make it move and it start vibrate. The quadronance start then to make a deep hum, and after that a moaning broke the silence.

Your concentration lost, you open your eyes and see everyone ashamed and red faced.

"Well, uh... that was strong control on a strange... resonance..." The teacher said.
