"L-Lauren." You try to say it confidently, but the officer subtly raises an eyebrow before typing it into his computer. Within a few minutes, he has taken your picture and printed your school ID card. Before you can leave however, he also hands you and Emily each an envelope. They are clearly marked as from the X-Change company and also boldly display across the top "CONFIDENTIAL." Emily slips hers into her purse, and, following her lead, you toss yours into your backpack.

After you exit the police office, Emily grabs your hand again and starts leading you toward a new part of campus. "You still have a bit of time before orientation starts, so we should probably get your things put away in our room." You say nothing at this, but Emily seems to want you to respond as she follows up with, "don't you think?"

"That makes sense to me."

"Great! I still have some things to unpack as well. We lucked out on the room as well. We were supposed to get a standard double dorm, but since your acceptance was so late those were all taken. Thankfully, they shelled out some more and got us a three-person suite. We get a private bathroom and small kitchen as well. I can already tell it'll be way better than my dorm was last year." As she continues talking, you enter into one of the nicer looking buildings and take the elevator up to the first floor. You pass by a nice little common area with some couches and a decent size TV before finally reaching your room. Emily hands you a small, brass key and takes a step back. Taking the hint, you stick the key in the lock and push the door open.

The room is exactly as Emily described. It looks like a standard studio apartment outfitted to house 3 people. In the entryway, there's a few kitchen appliances on the right side, and a door on the left presumably leading to the bathroom. A few steps forward and the room opens up. There's three beds arranged against the walls. Emily has clearly already taken the bed on the far left wall as patterned pink comforter set and pillows are nicely arranged on it. You instinctively start moving toward the bed along the right wall before Emily stops you.

"Not so fast, Lauren. Take this one so we can be closer." She takes hold of your shoulders and physically steers you towards the third bed, situated along the back wall and comes in at a square angle against her own bed. You don't want to fight her on it, so you do what she says and set your backpack down next to your new bed. She sets your duffel bag down as well and you try to get to unpacking.

The first thing you pull out of your bag is a plastic bag of clothes. You look at them and think, you wouldn't care about wearing male clothing as a girl, but these won't even fit you now anyways. Emily notices you pondering and rescues you. "Don't worry. We can put your old clothes into storage. We'll go shopping later to get you a new wardrobe. I know just the place!" Emily snatches the bag out of your hands and tosses it under her bed.

After removing your clothes from the equation, the amount of unpacking you have to do is laughably small. You get the sheets you brought wrapped around your bed's mattress before carelessly tossing a pillow and small blanket on as well. You hear Emily giggle at you, "Lauren, come on! Those don't even match! We'll have to pick out some better ones later as well, kay?" You sigh and look in your bags again. There's not anything else that needs put away; you just have a few odds and ends you might need for classes as well as some toiletries.

Meanwhile, Emily is humming softly to herself while stacking away clothes in her small wardrobe and then pasting a few movie posters up on the wall against her bed. Everything you'd expect a woman to be doing. You take a moment to observe her. She definitely is acting exactly what you'd expect any girl her age to act. There's no hint that she's only been a girl for a relatively short period of time. Unsurprisingly, she notices you staring. "What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing." You immediately stammer out.

Smirking, she approaches you, getting just close enough to make you uncomfortable again. "Are you sure?" She asks, now towering over you even though she's really only a few inches taller than you.

"I... uh..." You try to explain but now can't even remember why you were looking at her.

She gets even closer now, her face brushes past yours as she leans in to whisper in your ear. "See something you want?"

Your eyes shoot wide open and you start to feel your heart pounding in your chest. As quickly as she was upon you, she backs off and rapidly declares: "I still have another box in my car be right back!" She exits the room so quickly you think you just might have seen her panties when her skirt lifted up.

After a few moments, your breathing returns to normal and your pulse slows back down, but you take an extra minute to just sit on your bed. You check the time on your phone and you still have a little bit of time before you need to be at orientation. Then it hits you that this is the first time you've been alone since you've changed.
