Laura figures out how to use the pen to re-inflate you

"OK, back in your robe and all sealed up. I better get my shirt back on before you become whole after your little 'blackout'." Her giggle this time was with her own voice and made you feel good that she was happy as well as that she didn't have your voice. But then, you knew that you weren't going to just re-inflate until she uses the pen on you correctly.

You can hear movement, probably Laura putting on her shirt. Then you feel her poking then lifting your skin.

"Nothing yet. I wonder how long it takes or if there's something else that has to be done."

Use the pen. Use the pen, you think trying to send the idea to her.

Her footsteps sound moving away. Hopefully, she's going for the pen, but no such luck as she comes back and speaks.

"There must be something in Lasse's backpack to tell me about this. He's not the kind to just find a magic skin-suit-making pen and carry it around."

The sound of books and papers being put on the table reach your flopped over ears. Unfortunately, you know that there is nothing in your backpack. There is no instruction book. There was only that voice that told you about this all being your heritage. All you had was the pen.

"Nothing. Maybe I have to use the pen to reverse the skin."

Yes! Use the pen. Use the pen, you chanted in your mind hoping telepathically you could reach her.

There was a soft click.

"Nothing."

Another click.

Shit! It takes five clicks to prime it then another. How will she do that many? USE THE PEN AGAIN! USE THEN PEN AGAIN! your thoughts scream.

"Still nothing. Was this really what caused it?"

Yes it was. Keep trying. Again. AGAIN!

There's several seconds of silence as you try to project into her mind.

Three rapid clicks.

"This isn't good. It looks like I may be stuck with a Lasse skin. I gotta do something with this skin. He can't just disappear. I guess I'll have to impersonate him as well as not have myself disappear. how am I going to manage that? Stupid pen!"
