Chapter 36 by TheTruePenguin TheTruePenguin

Can you fix the shower?

Later that Night...

It took you far too long to fix the downstairs shower, too long being a perfectly respectable time if you were a normal plumber/handyman, rather than a magical being who could simply fix it with a touch. Unfortunately, Phoebe insisted on 'helping' which really was just her sitting there watching you, handing you any tools you asked for, but it got fixed in the end.

It was later that night when all the girls gathered up for a small dinner that you figured out which episode you'd found yourself in...

"It was really weird, the priest sneaked in and was saying something about 'ending Hecate'. Plus, when I saw the wedding invitations last week, he was marrying a totally different woman named Alice. Something is going on at that wedding." Piper said, sitting on the opposite side of the table to you, refusing to meet your eyes, it seems despite Piper moving past what happened this morning, she hadn't forgotten it.

"He being the groom, not the priest?" Prue clarified.

"Yeah, that's another thing, I overheard some people saying they haven't seen the groom in the last few days, ever since the change in brides. I'm not totally convinced the change was his idea, something fishy is going on there." Piper said with a confused shake of her head.

"It all sounds rather old school, arranged marriages and the like, but maybe that's how the rich and powerful do things, can't let just anyone in on the family secret, as you girls well know." You added your own two cents and it was only by some stroke of lck that Prue didn't notice Piper flushed cheeks as she inadvertently met your gaze over the table.

Phoebe, however, seemed to finally have enough of the awkward air suffusing the group, "I'm so sorry about this morning Piper, don't blame Leo, it was my fault." She tried to apologize, but judging from Piper look, you weren't sure it was all that successful.

"What happened this morning?" Prue asked, apparently she too had noticed the tension in the air. You saw Piper shoot a hard glare at Phoebe before turning to look at Prue, and just for a moment you felt the pang of shame and embarrassment over the connection. Piper was mad at Phoebe for reopening the wound in front of Prue. Given your own part in the debacle, you'd help cover it up.

Phoebe decided to use up all the hot water this morning, which not only ran Piper behind, but left her with a freezing cold shower." You supplied as both Piper and Phoebe looked at you in veiled surprise.

"Then why was she saying not to blame you?" Prue inquired, sensing the lie.

"Because in addition to using all the hot water, your kinky little sister also decided to engage in some strange role-play..." You trailed off, hoping the answer would suffice, given Prue proclivity to not want to hear about your sex life with her sister. It probably would've worked, if both Piper and Phoebe weren't staring at you in rapt fascination.

"Uh huh, and what would that entail? Prue pressed, maybe genuinely curious, more than likely however, she wanted to see how far I'd take this.

"She may have gotten some of Piper's more, ahem, delicate things, and pretended to be her, as well as suggesting we should have sex on Piper's bed, it probably would've been fine, and we could've cleaned it up if Piper wasn't running late and walked in on us." You finished, and this time both coconsisters had the appropriate looks: shame.

Whether Prue believed you or not, she let it go, possibly because even if she thought you were lying, neither sisters was denying the charge, either way, the matter was dropped.

"Going back to this wedding though, the priest mentioned Hecate?" You asked, trying to get the matter back on track.

"Yeah, why?" Piper replied, her cheeks still a pale dusty rose, but fading.

"Well, it's just weird, in Greek mythology, which I'm considering may have a bit more to it now, Hecate was the Goddess witchcraft, she could literally be called the progenitor of witches, maybe she's involved in all this, like casting a spell on whats his name, so he'd marry her instead of this other girl, uh Alice, I think you said her name was." You began suggesting.

"Huh, you could be on to something, I'm going to go check the Book." Piper said, rising from the table and rushing out, Phoebe close behind her although for an entirely different reason.

"So, now that they're gone, you want to tell me the real story from this morning?" Prue suggested, although her tone hinted it was more of an order. Luckily, you were made of stronger stuff, and sighed off her request.

"It's not for me to say, I'll leave it at Phoebe did something very hurtful, although she didn't mean to, and Piper ended up paying for it..." You trailed off, staring at your food as if it would reveal the answer to you.

A few seconds of silence passed before Prue picked up her water, taking a small sip. "You really care for her don't you?" She said, her previous tone vanished.

"Of course I do, she's my girlfriend, and hopefully wife one day." You didn't even pause to think about what she was asking.

"I meant Piper... that's what the problem is, isn't it? Piper's a romantic person, while Phoebe is more casual, probably because she's still young." Prue continued, and for a moment you didn't know whether she expected an answer or an ear to listen.

But, judging from her pause as she looked at you, you suspected it was the former. Rather than give her a straight answer, you replied with another question, "How did you-?" Before you even finished Prue was already answering.

"While I may not have gotten mind-reading as my power, I helped raise them. And despite how we bicker and fight, we're still family, we're all we have. So," Prue paused, meeting your gaze, and for a moment you were actually scared, her eyes like iron, "Either figure out a way to make both of them happy, or I want you to break it off with Phoebe and never come back." Prue voice matched her gaze, not allowing any alternatives.

Trying to break the intense mood, you attempted a joke, "You're being awfully casual with your suggestions there, are you saying I should date Piper and just have booty calls with Phoebe because that's not going to happen!" You answered sharply, so much for making a joke, but even still Prue's gaze didn't waver.

"Then date them both, if you can come to an arrangement where both of them are happy, then go for it." Prue took another sip of water.

"You're being very casual with your assertions, I can't just date both of them, that would be..." You didn't know exactly what it would be, but what was obvious was how you were losing control of this conversation.

"It would be what: strange, weird, abnormal, unbiblical? I don't know if you're noticed Leo, but we're witches, we aren't exactly model Christians, in fact converting to Mormonism would probably help. Either way, if you're looking a for a normal relationship here, you may want to have your bags packed because that's not going to happen." Piper said, as you heard the heavy footsteps of both sisters running back downstairs. "Now then, let's see what the Book had to say about Hecate?" Piper sad as she stood from the table and walked towards her approaching sisters, leaving you to look at your plate.

You had a lot to chew on...

What does the next day bring?
