You emerge from the damp, man-sized cooling pipes with your suit glistening. You pause for a moment to do a quick scan for security personnel or signs of an alarm being raised. When you’re certain that everything is quiet, you make your way to the inner building entrance.

Your stealth suit and enhanced vision makes short work of the usual sensors and trip lasers, practically letting you walk casually through the entrance. You are a little concerned due to the fact that for a secure facility there’s not much security present.

There are no bots patrolling, no elevated radiation levels, and most importantly no signs of any maintenance work going on.

Why would the plant be offline and where the hell is everyone from the night crew?

Even during a maintenance cycle some staff should be present. After spending a long time in this line of work, you don’t believe in coincidences and all of this is starting to make you uneasy.

On the positive side, you are making better time than expected even though you refuse to rush things and risk being lulled into a false sense of security. That mistake has cut many an infiltrator’s career short, both amateur and professional alike. You know to stay focused as access to the lab was what made this route so important so it’s equally important to the opposition.

You eventually come upon one of the crew locker rooms. Being ahead of schedule, you decide to have a look inside. You take a look around and starts to open a few of the lockers with a small digital lock pick you carry with you hoping for some insight into what is going on.

You are starting to form an idea of what might be going on when you hear the familiar ping of a datapad receiving a new message. The sound came from one of the lockers in a row against the far wall you hadn’t gotten to yet.
