Late Saturday Night

It is late Saturday night and you and Maddie are kind of mad, but not at each other, and kind of tired. Maddie at 5'10 and with beautiful curly blonde hair, could have competed with Amber in many ways if she had just had some luck or different circumstances. Maddie is pissed that Amber backed out of a 9:15 a.m. study group they had planned. Amber came into the store at 1:00 to apologize for sleeping through it and said that Karen kept her up all night with her wild partying and other inappropriate behaviors. Maddie got good grades through 10th grade and wants to return to her studious ways.

Maddie's day got a lot worse when Karen didn't show up at 3:00 for her late shift and Maddie had to stay until 8:30 as the store was getting slammed. Wendy Ooglemyer and Lexie Whye also didn't show up for their shifts. Wendy comes from a good family and can be snobbish and felt she had better things to do than work her shift. Lexi's dad is a prominent attorney and she is a party girl and was still too hungover to work. Emma also didn't show.

Bobby was supposed to be over at 11:00 after his short early shift to help you do some stuff for your uncle. He never came by or answered your calls or texts and you haven't heard from him since you saw him last night. You called the store at 4:00 to tell Jon to tell Maddie you would be a little late with your plans for the night, with Bobby having screwed you over and he gave you the news that they are really busy and that he's glad you have Maddie as a girlfriend and all but he needs her to stay later then her shift. Your uncle was supposed to be out of town and you and Maddie could watch movies and be alone and all but now that can't happen with Uncle Jim being home. You knew you wouldn't be having a night of wild crazy sex like last weekend, as Maddie is still in her fertile time and allergic to rubbers and not on the pill, but you had hoped for more than driving over to Smalltown and getting drive through at Taco Bell.

You buy and Maddie really enjoys the treat as things are tight in her house with just her and her mom working bad jobs and there are many bills still from the bad things of the past. She doesn't get to go out much or spend much money on frivolous things. You take a long way back that has vacant roads that she can drive on. She has a learner's permit but needs the practice and doesn't get to as her mom doesn't have a car.

You take over the driving again as you get near town but head back away from town to a little Lovers Lane type area. You and Maddie kiss and hug and feel up the other longer than either of you thought you could but quit long before you want to as you are both exhausted from your day's. You leave her off at her mom's house at a little after 11:00. You are both happier than when your night started.
