Chapter 11 by si91

What's next?

Lady Elissa is more concerned about your cold

What Lady Elissa does next surprises you. She sets her knitting down on a small table beside her chair, and then she stands up and walks over to you. She looks you in the eye and says "We can talk about your qualifications later. For now, Brynden, you must get off your feet."

You are confused. "Why do you say that, milady?"

"You are not well," Lady Elissa points out. She then turns to her castellan and orders him "Duncan, fetch the maester. Tell him to meet me in my bedchamber."

The bearded man seems surprised. "Is that necessary, my lady?

Lady Elissa glares at him incredulously. "Can you not see that he is sick? He should not be negotiating for a job. He should be resting."

"Very well, my lady," the castellen firmly declares, bowing and exiting the room.

Once he is gone, the Lady of Ironrath turns to her daughters and tells them "Mira, Talia, please help me with our guest."

"Yes, Mother," the two Northern girls reply in unison, standing up. The two of them go to your sides and each one gives you a helping hand. You are thankful for their assistance; by now, you are so exhausted, that you feel you may collapse at any moment.

The three Forrester ladies then escort you to the bedchamber of the Lady of Ironrath. When you get there, you wonder why they brought you there of all places. The maester's office or a vacant guest room may have been more practical.

Then again, they probably have their reasons. At least they seem genuinely concerned for your well-being.

What do the ladies do now?

What's next?
