Lab 314

They stood before three doors at the end of a white sterile corridor number from Helina's left 312,313, and on the right 314. There was no indication on the doors as to what was behind each door so Helina told Arachne to choose a door. Arachne chose 314 as that was the nearest to her. Helina pressed the button on the door and nothing happened, she tried again and still nothing, then she asked Sado if the doors were all powered up. Sado confirmed they were so Helina tried the other two doors and they remained firmly shut. Arachne looked up and saw an open ventilation duct so she told Helina she would enter the lab from the duct.

As she got ready she told Helina she would transform to a smaller size and Helina would lift her up to the duct. She quipped that she hoped Helina was not squeamish when it came to spiders. Arachne shrunk herself to the size of a tarantula and Helina picked her up and placed her in the open inspection hatch and watched her scurry into the darkness. Arachne travelled alone the duct and eventually came to the other end that led into the lab. The lab was bathed in emergency red lighting with a few panels on computers lit up and from what she could make out it seemed to be a robotic lab.

She fired a silken thread from the duct down to the floor and allowed herself to slide down to the floor where she resumed her normal size and headed to the door. The button on this side of the door yielded the same result, the door remained firmly shut as she looked around the room. Then she saw it in the corner, a power station so she headed over and saw that the power was shut off and guessed this is why the door would not budge. She headed back to the duct and climbed her silk thread and then back out to where Helina was standing waiting. She informed her of what she had found and that she did not understand the power panel.

Helina asked Sado if she could open the door from the control room and after a few minutes, Sado said that she had managed to reroute power and the door should work. Helina pressed the button and the door slid open to reveal its dark interior to Helina who steeped in followed by Arachne. Helina went to the power panel and found the controls for the lights and pressed the switch which resulted in the lights going from red to normal lighting. Now lit the room gave up its secrets, there were various tubes containing androids in different stages of completion.

Some of them had machine faces and human limbs others the reverse human face and mechanical limbs. All seemed to be shut down and unpowered. On some tables were torso's awaiting limbs and heads and on other tables power packs and tools. Arachne was fascinated by the room and found some purely robotic robots in a separate lab and Helina informed her that these bots were used for maintenance around the station. Arachne picked up one bot that looked like a box and found a button so she pressed it not expecting anything but a panel slide open and a dildo appeared. She smirked then pressed the button again and the dildo retracted.

She had an idea and hid the box under her abdomen and then the investigation was complete and they headed back to the control room where Sado was waiting for them Sado reported that she had finished checking the logs and discovered that indeed the pathogen had been the cause for the disappearance of the station personnel and therefore presumably their deaths. Helina took it in and then suggested that they get some rest. Helina headed to the nearest crew quarters and slumped onto the bed and fell into a peaceful sleep. Arachne decided that she wanted to visit Helina.
