Kyle initiates the kiss!

Kyle took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and in one fell swoop, grabbed Greg’s face, pulled it close to his and kissed him on the lips. Greg seemed surprised by how brazen ‘Kylie’ had been, but soon relaxed, closed his eyes and enjoyed the kiss. If Kyle had been able to feel his purse, he’d have felt MARCI buzzing, but instead of the usual annoying buzz, it would almost feel like a buzz of contentment. Kyle wasn’t sure how long to make the kiss last, so he waited until it felt about the same length as his kiss with Eli and released Greg from his iron grip.

“Wow!” Greg exclaimed. “That was… new. Usually I’m the one who does that.”

“Well, if you don’t like it, then…” Kyle started.

“Didn’t like it? No, that was great!” Greg said.

Kyle’s face fell and he turned back to look over the edge of the cart as they started to descend back towards the ground. It didn’t work! He’d kissed another boy (on purpose this time) and it was all for nothing! Greg continued to talk all the way back to the car, and all the way back to Uncle Mark’s but Kyle didn’t pay attention, no longer worried about playing hard to get, since his attempts to subvert it hadn’t done anything but do the opposite of what he’d intended.

“So, do I get that second date?” Greg asked as he opened the passenger side door.

Kyle grabbed his purse and the stuffed unicorn almost unconsciously.

“Uh, I’ll have to check with your cousin… Her and the girls seem to control my schedule nowadays.” Kyle said, hoping that it might keep him at bay for a few days as they walked up towards the door.

“Yeah, she’s a bit much isn’t she?” Greg chuckled. “Anyway, I had a lot of fun tonight.”

“I, uh…” Kyle started, averting his eyes. “It was an interesting night, to say the least”

“Anyway, goodnight.” Greg seemed to be waiting for Kyle to initiate the goodnight kiss.

“Night!” Kyle went to open the front door, but it opened on his own. Greg wasn’t getting another kiss out of him.

Kyle stepped into the house as it shut behind him. He let out a large sigh and dropped the purse and stuffed unicorn onto the ground, which MARCI immediately picked up and carried away, likely up to the bedroom.
