Kitty Pryde: Shadow Cat

Watching the others depart, Kitty Pryde waited a few minutes, gathering her wits and her equipment, before heading out. She followed behind Emma Frost, not trusting the white queen. However, upon seeing how miserable the woman was, and gaining a bit of satisfaction from it, Kitty went off on her own. While she didn't trust Frost, she was worried about Psylocke. Betsy Braddock was a formidable woman, and losing contact with her meant a number of things. None of them were good.

Kitty didn't use her phasing, although this time not out of consideration to the others. It was a nagging feeling, one that being a veteran of multiple teams had told her. It would not help her. It would only waste energy. So, she trudged through the muck with resolve, eyes glancing for anything that would help her in the search. And then, she found it. Laying in the mud, the red hued band that Psylocke wore around her waist. But it was tattered, as if it had been torn off her waist. Kitty had seem the flimsy garment damaged before, but this... it was almost as if Betsy had been stripped of it instead.

Leaning down, Kitty examined the nearby tracks. There had been a struggle, the mud had been turned up enough for that. But there were tracks leading away from it. Kitty Pryde was not the expert tracker to know exactly what it meant, but she was hoping for the best. And then, she found it. The communicator the x-men used, damaged, waterlogged. Expert tracker she may not be, but she knew well enough what a failed communicator meant. It was one of the best, worst case scenarios. Betsy was around, but she had no way to contact them.
