Kindness and punishment

The men gather and pick up their wineglasses, raising them in a toast before drinking.

"To our lady heretics!" the leader says. "We couldn't have done it without you!" The others laugh and clink glasses before drinking.

"Brothers, let us not forget we are gentlemen. We owe these heretics the mercy of a speedy judgement. But first, slake their thirsts." Glasses are filled with bottled water, and straws inserted before being presented to you. Gratefully you suck down the cool water, feeling it flow down your throat in a wave of clean goodness. You gasp your thanks as the man presenting it to you steps back.

"Now to impose judgement Brothers. What say you? How shall we punish these heretical strumpets?" He points to each of the hooded men in turn, waiting for their reply.

"The Stake," says the first.

"The Stake," agrees the second.

"The Stake," nods the third.

"The Stake," sneers the fourth.

"The Stake," laughs the fifth.

"It is decided!" the leader laughs. "The Stake it shall be. Make things ready Brothers."

Terrible fear sends tendrils through you as the men start to busy themselves in corners of the room. You whimper as your vision becomes cloudy, then hazy, as a numbness overtakes your mind and body. Your last thought, as darkness descends and your body slumps limply, is that ****, horrible **** is but moments away.
