Keep waiting

You decide that it was still too early to make a proper move, so you just wait until she's completely overwhelmed. "Still no help needed?" "Still got this." You know she doesn't and judging from the expression on her face she knows it too. But her pride or her determination to prove something for her boss or whatever it is is still too strong. You don't see the need to rush, the evening is still young. You keep sipping on your beer while she's getting completely run over by the demand. It's actually quite entertaining to watch.

Ten minutes later the show starts again, but there is still a large crowd in front of the counter. Most of them leave grunting to not miss the next performance, only a few who were in the front stay in an attempt to avoid having to go in the next break. "How do they normally do this?" She's clearly exhausted when she finally managed to get rid of the crowd again. Over half of the guests didn't get their beer, the boss won't like that. "Did nobody explain to you how stuff usually goes around here?" "No, it was kind of an emergency. Susan suddenly had to leave and the boss just told me to give out beer and do what I can to keep the customers happy." Do what she can? You can immediately think of something, but you decide that it would be best to keep it to yourself. You wink at her. "Well, this was just the practice run, I'm sure you'll be able to manage the next pause without a problem." She smiles in agreement but you can see that she's not as sure as you appear to be.
