"Hey, that's not all bad is it?" You say. "She sounds like a straight shooter. She single?"

Of course, you know she is... but it never hurts to play dumb.

"Sooo single," Diane says. She gives you a little nudge and cleans in close. The smell of booze is faint on her lips. "I'll make it worth your while if you help you. She really, really needs to get laid."

Well, that escalated quickly. You laugh it off. "So it's like that, huh? I'll go have a chat with her. At the very least I'll let you get some alone time with Terry."

"Who?"

You flinch. "Uh... you know Terry? He was looking forward to spending some time with you."

"Oh... Terry! Haha... of course. I was just messing with you." She pulled a lock of hair behind her ear. "I guess I can be honest with you... since you seem cool. I'm sorta on the downturn. Just dumped my loser of a boyfriend and was looking for a little fun. Terry, you know him, right? Is he cool?"
