Kayla steps in to protect Stuart

"Hey Jason" shouted Kayla down the length of the pool "Stuart didn't touch your beer, you knocked it yourself"

Kayla exhaled, proud of herself for not only doing the right thing but at how relieved Stuart looked that the situation had been defused. Jason meanwhile fleetingly looked lost - a combination of disappointment that his game wasn't going the way he'd planned and surprise at being stood up to.

"Sorry mate" he said to Stuart "I'll tidy up the mess, why don't you grab a beer - me, Mark and James were about to have a drinking game, why don't you join us?"

Stuart felt utterly bewildered - on the one hand he was sure that this was some sort of trap and there was nothing he wanted less than to spend time in Jason's company. On the other hand he knew if he refused to join them bitter experience had taught him things could quickly got far worse. Deciding it was the safer option to join in he grabbed a drink and pulled up a chair.

Kayla watched on relieved that Stuart and Jason were now getting on. Whilst Stuart still looked a little startled from the incident she was glad to see that he seemed to be making friends with Jason. And at that point Stuart took a great big swig of his drink as the other three guys in the group cheered him on. Kayla knew that Stuart couldn't take his drink, if he carried on like that things would be turning very messy very quickly.
