Which woman will Rick ask?
Kat
Rick wasn't scared of the casino, exactly. But people are assholes and someone with a big win, especially a stranger, especially someone who just walked up and made a killing rather than paying their dues, was an obvious target. While Jan did martial arts, he wasn't sure that she'd actually be able to fight for real. So, Kat was the obvious first choice.
The only question was, would she go with him. He'd only chatted with her for an hour or so. Sure she'd given him her phone number, but that might have been because she was interested in building her personal trainer business rather than because she wanted to suck his cock. Still, he wouldn't be any worse off if he asked and she turned him down.
Her phone rang three times and he got ready to leave a message for the inevitable voicemail system when a breathless voice answered. "Kat Swanson personal training. How can I help you?"
"Hi Kat, it's Rick Peters. We met the other afternoon at health club. You gave me your number."
"Yeah?"
Clearly she didn't remember him at all. Not a great start considering he'd found her quite attractive. "I was the guy who'd just lost his job. You suggested I try the Plano recreation department facility since my health club membership was a corporate deal."
"Oh yeah. Uh, Rick was it? Did you want some advice on your workouts?"
"I could use some help with that but I have a more immediate problem." He pressed ahead with a brief explanation of his intention to play poker and his worries that, should he win he'd be a victim. Without being able to explain bio-DNA, he had to waffle with why he thought he could win. So, he braced himself for rejection.
"You really think you can win? Guys playing those events are serious. They have a lot of experience. I know you say your marketing background gives you insight into peoples' reactions, but these guys are pros."
"You can't fake subconscious tells."
