Just the normal “hope you enjoy your time here”

He rolls into his little speech, one that sounds like he has given numerous times before, a speech about wanting you to feel happy while you work there, that if you have any problems, you should come and see him or anyone else who could help, and how he is sure you will be an asset to his department over the coming year.

As he is going through his welcome, he has stood up from his chair and worked his way around to your side of the desk, leaning back against it just in front of you. Although it sounds like a prepared speech it does make you feel so welcome you can’t help but smile up at him as he draws to a close.
