Chapter 21 by Deschain5585 Deschain5585

What's next?

Just Deserts

Rushing from the bathroom like a man possessed, Dagaz made it back to the table a hair's breadth before Ava did, settling himself down into his seat and quickly picking up the desert menu, creating the illusion thay he was still debating which desert to order.

Thankfully, she was none the wiser as she made her way across the room towards him, strolling back across the restaurant with a seemingly new found confidence, and they both knew exactly where she'd found it. Reaching the table, she hovered in front of him before ever so slowly leaning forwards towards him to plant a soft kiss on his cheek and subtly tucking something soft into his shirt pocket, before sitting herself back down.

His hands went up instinctively to investigate, and Ava watched him with a hungry look in her eyes that suggested she was thinking about the photos she'd just sent, and that she knew he was too. Without pulling the object loose, Dagaz knew without a doubt exactly what it was; the knickers that she'd removed in the bathroom earlier. His fingers came away wet from the material, the underwear she'd tucked in his pocket was practically soaked, and he lifted his digits to his lips. He was just about to lick the scent of her arousal clean from them, when he caught sight of Ava across from him, nibbling seductively on a breadstick. There'd been none left in the basket when he'd sat back down, which meant the one she was eating could only have come from one place.

He didn't say a word, the ability to use language let alone form a coherent sentence had all but escaped him in that moment. She finished nibbling the stick, before dropping it back to the table.

"So, desert huh. What do you say we skip it and get out of here?"

Dagaz couldn't have agreed more. He signalled for the bill and settled up, over tipping as per usual — half to ensure the restaurants discretion, half to cover the cost of repairing the fist shaped hole he'd left in the bathroom wall.

Outside, the temperature had dropped considerable, the first autumn nights had started to move in earlier than expected, and whilst the leaves hadn't yet begun to turn there was a definite chill to the air. Ava, lacking a coat or her date's seeming resilience to the temperature, had began to shiver a little. Dagaz, lacking a coat to drape over her shoulders, simply wrapped his arms around her shoulders, rested his head atop her own, and pulled her in tight to his chest to keep her warm whilst they waited for the car to be brought around. She sighed into him contently, feeling his strong muscles beneath her hands, and simply enjoyed the moment.

"You're incredible." Dagaz whispered in her ear, so close that she could feel the heat of his breathe tickle her earlobe. He tilted her face towards his own, and met her lips in a kiss. Thankfully he'd had the good sense to not only rinse his mouth out earlier, but to snag one of the complimentary mints from the table as they'd left.

As they stood there lost in the simplicity of the kiss, neither of them heard the car approach. As the driver beeped the horn, it shocked them back to reality. The car had been returned exactly as Dagaz had expected, cleaned and with a full tank of gas that was always provided for the amount he paid. As they pulled away from the restaurant, the conversation turned towards where the evening may take them next.

"Well, I promised you better food than just bacon," he said, struggling a little to raise his voice over the sound of the engine. He'd turned the heater on in an effort to bring a bit of colour back to Ava's cheeks, and she warmed her hands gratefully in front of it.

"That you did. Promise fulfilled, spectacularly I might add. I seem to remember you making a few other promises earlier though" Her fingers had warmed enough that she was able to use them to count off what he had promised her, the first being dancing.

"I did promise you that didn't I." She nodded, but let him continue without interruption just in case he mentioned anything she'd forgotten. "I vaguely recall mentioning something about some new clothes too if I remember correctly." Taking one hand from the wheel, he reached into his shirt pocket and retrieved her knickers from, handing them back to her. "But you didn't have to give me these as a deposit you know." he flashed her a cheeky grin in the reflection of the rear view mirror, not having taken his eyes from the road.

Meeting his smile, she took them from him. "They weren't a deposit. Think of them more like, a souvenir..." As he tried to move his hand back to the steering wheel, she caught it and brought it down beneath her skirt. "Maybe we'll skip buying new underwear when we go clothes shopping. Being with you, there's something quite liberating about not wearing any." She pushed his hand tight against her slit. "Maybe I just like the idea that you can touch me here whenever you want."

Dagaz loved the idea too, but not enough to risk spilling her wetness all over the leather seats of his car. "Me too," he told her. "But this cars to powerful to drive with one hand."

She pouted as he moved his fingers away, but behaved herself whilst he drove. "So, where exactly are we?" she said. Outside her window, she struggled to recognize the buildings rushing past. In her defence, since moving to the city she'd rarely ventured far outside it. Partly due to a lack of funds, but mainly because she'd been a little scared that she may have just left and never had found the courage to come back.

"Well, most of the clubs in the city are full of posers, dealers and paps. I figured you deserved something a little better, so I took the liberty of finding us somewhere a little more private. A friend of mine recommended where we're going. Ever hear of a place called 'Dance Macabre'?" Her blank expression told him that she hadn't, which wasn't surprising in all honestly, neither had he until he'd been given the address earlier." Well, it's a little out of the way, but I've heard it's pretty much the place to be tonight so i figured we could go check it out, do some drinking and dancing, and be back in bed before dawn."

"Little presumptuous of you, thinking I'll just fall into bed with you Mr." she paused, just long enough to make him worry that she wasn’t joking before she laughed. "But that sounds perfect. I haven't danced properly in ages. Like club danced, you know. The music at those events we go to is always boring as shit. Ugh, they're soo stuffy."

Dagaz knew exactly what she meant, although his age compared to hers, and his apparently more refined tastes in music allowed him a higher tolerance for the kind of music that was often inflicted on guests at studio soirées. He had an appreciation for most types of music, classical through to heavy, heavy metal, there wasn't much he wouldn't listen to depending on his moods. As long as there were real instruments, and not just someone looping the same one word or phrase over and over again and claiming it was music, he'd listen to it.

"I get that. That's what happens when old people fund parties for younger ones, something gets lost in translation I think. But if the music's bad, the foods usually decent. And vice versa most of the time. One day I'll go to a party where by some miracle they get both right."

"Never going to happen." she said. "You know why?" Dagaz shook his head. "Because," she informed him, quite pleased with the joke she was about to make, "the people that make the decent music are usually out the back making the decent food!"

As much as she was joking, she made a very valid point. Dagaz had seen it often enough, talented people having to work part time jobs to make ends meet whilst they tried to catch a break doing what their true passion was, woefully overlooked by those that had already succeeded in attaining their own dreams. It made him resolve to help Ava achieve hers just that little bit more. So he joined in with her laughing as the continued to make there way towards the club.

He'd never been there, it was well outside anywhere he usually frequented, and he hadn't thought to find a picture of the place so he would recognise it when they arrived. All he had to go off of was the GPS address he had, which seemed to be directing him almost to the middle of nowhere.

The middle of nowhere turned out to be almost a fitting description. His sat-nav guided him away from the highways, and onto the side roads, which in turn gave way to dirt roads half covered with sand as they approached the coast. He could see the neon lights of the city far in the distance, and was surprised at just how far out they had driven. The place wasn't exactly isolated, but it was far enough off the beaten track that it had taken them a good hours drive to get there from the restaurant. As they drove past the rows of warehouses, he wondered how he was supposed to tell one from another and recognize which one was the club.

Dropping his speed to a crawl, he edge the car along slowly, hoping to catch sight or hear music coming from his intended destination. What he did see, in a spray paint so dark even his keen sense of vision nearly overlooked it stencilled on he way, was a stylised cross, with the name of the club nestled above it.

'Guess this must be it,' he thought, looking around for somewhere to pull up. Not seeing any kind of formal car park, he had **** but to simple stop the car by the fence by edge of the water. Loathe as he was to leave such an expensive car unattended, he figured that the chance of it being stolen this far from the city were slim. Hell, how many people even knew about this place, and those that did would probably make for a fairly small list. If the car went missing, he suspected it wouldn't take much to discover where it had gone.

"Is this it?" Ava asked him as he killed the engine. Not letting his uncertainty creep into his voice, he told her it was. Offering her his arm, they made there way towards what looked appeared to be little more than a space where two sides of the wall seemed to meet, but was what he assumed to be the door. Thankfully he was correct in his assumption. As the pair walked closer to it, Dagaz was dismayed to discover there appeared to be no visible way of opening it from the outside. Lacking any other option, he simply raised his fist and hamnered against it, the sound of flesh ringing against metal filling the air as he did.

The door pulled back to admit them, but they found their path blocked by the largest individual Dagaz had ever had the misfortune of encountering. He liked to consider himself fairly tall, a little over 6 foot tall, but the figure looming before him dwarfed him by almost a foot entirely. And that was just in height. The fellow's more that considerable bulk did a magnificent job of effectively blocking the doorway against entry.

"Umm, excuse me." The man didn't budge, didn't even acknowledge the existence of the person standing before him. Dagaz, who was seldom used to needed to ask for something a second time, swallowed him pride in order to save himself from any embarrassment in front of his date spoke again. "Please."

The man, who Dagaz could only assume was some kind of security, didn't move a muscle. He simply shifted his eyes down to glance at the person before him in an almost nonchalant kind of way, flared his nostrils, and sniffed deeply.

'Did he seriously just fucking sniff me?' Dagaz thought. 'What the hell."

The bouncer directed his gaze towards Ava, studied her for a moment, and then looked back at Dagaz raising his eyebrow. He fixed his eyes back on Dagaz, took a single step to the side and ushered the pair of them inside.

Notes:

The plot will begin to pick up in these coming chapters, and there will be the initial seeds of crossovers with other clans (possibly some of the wider white wolf universe too)

I am still slowly reworking the various Clan intros, but it's a slow process so hang tight.

As always though, if you've enjoyed what you've read, please, please leave me comments and feedback. If I don't know what works for you guys, I can't adapt.
