Jonathan Ainsley, Archivist (Author' Story)

My name is Jonathan Toby Ainsley and I'm an Archivist at City Hall Department of Records.

I'm twenty three years old, five foot eleven with dark brown hair and glasses. I'm wearing a blue shirt and dark green trousers with maroon shoes. Looking at me, you wouldn't think that I was anything important and you'd be right.

I'm quite an introvert, to be honest, as I mostly spend my time tucked away in my cubicle at work and I don't talk to my colleagues as they're all women and I'm some what intimidated by the majority of them.

I sit on the bench, staring at the watch and thinking about why I have a strange urge to press the button on the top. I mean, I know I joked about it being able to stop time as soon as I press the button, because I'd feel more at ease if I knew I was sort of alone, but that's a ridiculous dream because this is just an ordinary stopwatch, right?

Deciding to take the plunge, I press the button.
