Jenny the good girl

Jenny regretted agreeing to be Hunted almost immediately. She really wasn't the kind of girl who did this type of thing.

It was all that bitch Laura's fault, anyway. Jenny and Laura worked together. To say that they did not get along would be putting it mildly. Jenny was kind a mild mannered, always eager to please. Laura was jealous, ambitious, and mean spirited. Laura was the kind of woman who always got what she wanted. Most recently this included stealing Jenny's boyfriend, Mark.

Laura delighted in boasting about how athletic she was, at least when she wasn't boasting about how beautiful or smart she was. Jenny had finally lost her patience when Laura dismissed the Hunt as a waste of time for a woman like her since there was noooo chance that any guy could take her down.

Jenny had called her bluff. Laura had turned a furious red and retorted that she would gladly register for the Hunt on the condition that Jenny did, too. Jenny, too furious herself to back down at this point, shocked everyone (herself included) by doubling down on her instinct that Laura was bluffing and agreeing.

Unfortunately, Laura had refused to back down. Jenny had hoped for a bit of vengeance (it would have been great if Mark had had to watch his new girl get railed by some stranger). But, infuriatingly, Laura had escaped without getting caught. She was 10 times more smug and $10,000 richer.

Now it fell to Jenny to keep her end of the bargain. She was skinny and pretty in a girl-next-door kind of way, but she didn't have nearly the raw athleticism that Laura had. Still, she was too proud to back out, even as the day of her Hunt grew closer.
