Jenny tells you about a meeting

Candy leads you and Jenny to a table in the corner and takes your order. You both order a cup of ice cream with fruit and caramel before you start talking.

“So, you wanted to tell me something important,” you ask and gently put your girlfriend's hand in yours, “or was this just a trick so I pay for your ice cream?”

“Would you spank me, if it was?” Jenny asks naughtily and grins, “but it wasn't. I got a call yesterday evening before I came to you. From another werewolf.”

“Other werewolves have your number?” you ask surprised, “well if I think about it, it’s not that surprising. I guess there is some kind of community of werewolves. You watch out for each other and show the new ones how to live with the curse.”

“Exactly,” Jenny says and nods, “to be honest, we call it just >pack<. It may sound animalistic, but we are fine with the name. We have meetings on weekends that are closest to the new moon. As you have seen last night, I already can control myself during those times.”

“More or less,” you comment grinning, “you are such a wild beast in bed.”

Jenny almost spits her ice cream out when you say this.

“Don’t say such things in public!” Jenny says and holds back her laughs, “people could misunderstand. Or even worse, understand it correctly. However, our pack leader Eric has called me. He has the most experience and is always the first one to be able to control himself. He decided the pack meeting will be in the night from Saturday to Sunday. This evening. New moon is on Wednesday next week, so at the weekend every werewolf should be able to not turn in more than a big furry.”

“So you are telling me, that you won't be available this weekend?” you ask with your eyebrows raised, “a shame. I would have liked to spend another night with your furry version. I already have some naughty ideas.”

“Keep them in mind,” Jenny says smirking, “but it’s not true, that I’m not available. Humans are allowed at the pack meetings.”

“Wait? Are you inviting me to your pack meeting?” you ask surprised, “I … I didn’t think this would be possible. Isn’t that dangerous?”

“There are a few humans at every meeting,” Jenny explains, “none have ever been bitten. Acaria watches over us all, Eric makes sure we are informed and follow the rules and every werewolf protects the human friends they still have. Some have families like me. Others lost both parents and their siblings or left them to not put them in danger. My father never attended one of these pack meetings, but the sister of another werewolf follows her brother every time. There's also one female werewolf who is married to a human and he comes often. Relationships between humans and werewolves are rare, but there are some.”

“I see,” you say interested, “and what do these other humans do during the meeting? Are they like pets or trophies to you?”

“Yes, we dress them up in silly costumes and **** them to do humiliating tricks for us,” Jenny answers sarcastically, “and the losers will serve as our midnight snack.”

“In this case, I propose a stop at McDonald’s before we attend the meeting,” you say and eat the rest of your ice cream, “not sure I appreciate the … receipts of your friends. But what happens really during these meetings?”

“Well mostly we inform each other about our situations,” Jenny answers, “we see if there are any new werewolves and if we all managed to not infect someone new. We also tell the others if there are any problems with vampires or the neo inquisition. And in the worst case, we discuss how to deal with rogue werewolves.”

“Rouge werewolves?” you ask surprised, “care to explain? I thought you can’t control yourself by night. How can a werewolf be rogue?”

“Most werewolves, including me, fear that one day we wake up in the blood of someone we killed,” Jenny explains and finishes her ice cream, “but sometimes there are some who believe our curse is a gift. They don’t try to restrain themselves at night. They hunt. Animals, humans, vampires, or even other werewolves. They are murderers. And they give the neo inquisition a reason to hate us. But the worst is, that a rogue werewolf infects several innocent people before we can hunt him down. Imagine that ten or twenty people could be **** to live a life like mine. But without a boyfriend.”

“I’m sorry,” you say and rub your girlfriend back, “I shouldn’t have asked. Were you … bitten by a rogue werewolf?”

“No, the one who has bitten me was just a poor guy who lost control, he is a member of the pack too. He begged me for forgiveness the first time I attended a meeting. I almost choked him to **** because I was so angry at him. Eric had to intervene. But according to Acaria I was still softer than most other werewolves who met the one that bit them. A month later we met again and I had more experience with the curse. I know that it wasn’t his choice but still … It’s hard to be close to the man who almost ruined every chance of a life with you.”

“Can we change the topic please,” you ask uncomfortable, “this is getting sad. Where will the meeting take place?”

“In a forest in the north,” Jenny answers, “still in the state, but far away from human civilization. Around six or seven hours by car from here. Are you still in?”

“Sure, let’s have a road trip then,” you say grinning, “we can leave tomorrow after school, spent the night camping, and arrive at the forest on Saturday morning.”

“It’s settled then,” Jenny agrees, “I’m glad you're coming with me. But remember I’m the only wolf who gets her belly rubbed by you. I am warning you. If you enjoy the attention of the other bitches too much I will bite you in the neck and drag you away like a tiger protecting her children.”
