Jasmine Arrives (Happy)

The breakfast Kathryn prepared was fit for a king. But then she knew how her nephew ate. First was cereal, then came eggs sunny side up, and she finished everyone off with three pancakes each. First one to finish was Jeremy as she had guessed.

And just as she would have guessed his first words were, "What's next?"

"Between you and your father I'm surprised we don't have a food shortage, seriously." Kathryn said with a smile.

"Hey, my body needs fuel, the more the better. So long as I keep training I'm all good." Jeremy responded with a grin of his own.

Courtney smiled at him as she started in on her pancakes. In fact her eyes had barely left him through out the meal.

Jeremy looked at Courtney, then Sandy and Kathryn, "So...what did you three talk about?"

As Courtney blushed deeply the doorbell rang.

Kathryn, who had dressed in a simple sweat suit hopped up and went to answer the door. As she walked she glanced out the window again to see Jasmine and Carissa standing at the door, holding hands. Kathryn smiled broadly as she opened the door. "Jasmine, Carissa, it is so good to see you."

Jasmine, smiling like the cat that ate the canary, hugged Kathryn with gusto. "Kathryn! GREAT news! Tell her Carissa!" she said to her lover as they entered the house.

Kathryn looked at her oldest friend, noticing a...glow she guessed. "What? You look so...so happy."

Carissa brushed her long luxurious black hair behind her ear, "Like a mother to be?" she asked Kathryn.

Kathryn nodded, "Exactly like...like...OH MY GOD!"

Bryan rushed out of the dining room, "What happened? Is everything alright?"

Kathryn nodded as the rest came out of the dining room, "Better than alright!"

Bryan looked confused until he saw Carissa rubbing her still flat tummy. He broke into a wide grin as he walked over to Jasmine and Carissa, "Am I correct in assuming that the news is good?"

Carissa nodded as she hugged Bryan, kissing him on the lips. "Better than alright." She kissed Bryan again, a slow lingering kiss.

Jasmine hugged and kissed Bryan next, slipping a little tongue into it as well. "We're going to be mommies!" She said breaking the kiss. "And finally Scott can take a break from it all."

"Does he know yet? Last I heard he had gone to Europe on business two weeks ago."

"Well, we called him last night and said we have great news for when he gets back home. He said, 'Reeeally? How great?' I said he'd have to find out, but I think he suspects." Carissa answered.

The scene devolved into a round of congratulations for Jasmine and Carissa.

Afterwards they gathered in the living room Carissa going into the details and tribulations she Jasmine and Scott had to go through. "After the second miscarriage I was ready to give up. I swear I couldn't go through that again."

Kathryn nodded sadly, "That's why you waited almost three years between true attempts?"

Jasmine nodded, "I thought of giving it a try, but after watching her sadness I didn't want to get pregnant and, like...have her feel sad. Oh, you should have seen her face immediately after the second time. I broke down. The three of us just sat there for like almost two hours crying."

Courtney looked stricken, "I didn't know anything about this. Did the docs know what happened?"

"My body just wasn't ready I guess." Carissa said, continuing to caress her abdomen lovingly. She paused a second looking at Courtney, "Say...isn't...isn't today your birthday?"

Courtney blushed, nodding, "Yeah, but you..."

"Get over here you!" Carissa said standing up and holding her arms out for a hug.

Kathryn spoke up as Courtney and Carissa hugged. "Jasmine...I need to ask you something in the other room. Be but a minute."

"Sure thing!" Jasmine stated, still giddy over her and Carissa's impending motherhood.
