Chapter 16
by Nathaniel Keam
Who Takes the Initiative?
Janina
The three girls all eyed each other up. Ellie and Nye stayed silent as they wondered who would make the first daring move.
The tension was too much for Janina who attacked Cami. She dug her fingers into her long black locks. Naturally, Cami responded by doing the same thing. The two girls screeched as they pulled on each other’s hair.
It was Adina who took the real initiative by standing aside. Yes, it was the perfect plan, let her two opponents wear each other out and then she could pick up the pieces and claim an upset victory.
Cami and Janina continued to tear at each other’s hair. Janina managed to manoeuvre Cami’s head to the side. She wobbled and fell onto the large black bench made from two palettes. Janina found herself on top of Cami for a moment.
With a burst of strength, Cami flipped Janina over. They were both half on the bench and struggling to find their feet on the floor as Adina looked on, watching her two friends struggle.
Janina realised her heavier opponent was beating her. She had to do something different to turn the tide. After all, she had started this.
Her instincts took over and she reached out a hand and slapped Cami across the face.
Cami reacted in horror, grabbing her cheek.
“Janina, you can’t do that!”
Janina looked to Ellie.
Ellie shrugged. “It wasn’t a punch. A slap isn’t going to cause any damage. Stop whining, bitches.”
Cami felt aggrieved by Ellie’s decision, but this was her event and she was the referee somewhat.
Janina took the momentary lull in proceedings to pop up from the bench and tackle Cami to the ground.
Again, the two girls fought for position as they turned over and over as their catfight intensified.
Still, Adina watched them wear each other out. To everyone’s surprise, nobody had even attempted to go for any clothes.
