Janice, a Divorce Lawyer

Janice's job could often gets ugly, but she believes it's an important one. She muses to herself as she pulls up to the law office she shares with her partners. If people are unhappy together, then they shouldn't be together. They were any number of reasons, from simple compatibility issues to as bad as physical ****. Janice is choosy in who she represents, making sure it was always someone she could personally live with helping get the best result possible. Of course the money didn't hurt either, but that was secondary.

She pulls into the parking lot, seeing there was already a couple cars there. She gets out and make her way inside the office building.

"Good morning, Mrs. Larson!" The voice came from Prisha, her secretary, a stunning Indian woman in her 30's.

"Morning, Prisha. You're chipper today. What's the occasion?" Janice asks curiously. Prisha was not normally a morning-person.

"Remember when I said how my in-laws were coming over this week?"

"I know you were dreading it," Janice recalls. Prisha did not get along with her husband's parents.

"They cancelled. Apparently one of Amit's brothers out-of-the blue asked his girlfriend to marry him. They'd only been dating for a month. His mom's in an uproar," Prisha explains, trying hard not to sound too relieved.

"Dodged a bullet, eh?" Janice asks with a smirk.

"I am not one to rejoice in the misery of others," Prisha says in a serious tone that just betrayed a hint of glee.

Janice chuckles. "Well I'm glad it worked out for you."

"Thanks. Oh! Before you head in, Mr. Nguyen's in the waiting room," Prisha quickly informs.

Tinh Nguyen was the ex-husband of her client, Bian. Tinh was born in the United States and Bian was from Vietnam. There had been a strong attraction, but their values were just too different. Janice had helped secure an amicable divorce for the pair.

"Thanks, Prisha. I'll see what he wants." Janice enters the waiting room, a handsome Vietnamese gentleman greeted her.

"Mrs. Larson, I was hoping to speak with you," Tinh Nguyen said with a smile.

"Of course. Step into my office," she offers, opening the door and letting him in before closing it.
