Jake and you meet with Emily for breakfast.

Jake is waiting for you when you step out of your dorm room as you requested. You walk side by side towards the dining hall. He makes a little small talk with you, and you end up also exchanging phone numbers. You're surprised you hadn't thought of that before, but at least now you won't just be knocking on each other's doors at night. Secretly, you hope you can tease him with some flirty messages when you get bored.

When you get to the dining hall, you split for a moment while you plate up some food. You spot Emily sitting alone at a table, scanning this morning's diners. You head over to her table to join her and Jake follows just a few steps behind. She doesn't react immediately when you sit down but instead has her gaze fixed on a group of 3 guys standing and chatting in a circle. You don't notice anything abnormal about them.

You want to check on her reverse key hunt but need to be vague since Jake is sitting right next to you. "Find anything yet?" You ask your roommate.

"Not really. Something to follow up on later, though." She finally turns her vision towards you. "Have fun last night?" She giggles while Jake blushes and turns away. Of course, she doesn't know everything that happened.

"It was fun." You respond. "I don't think that will happen again. At least not for a while anyway." Your words reassure Emily while also teasing Jake.

"What do you think, Jake? Are you gonna have Lauren locked down before the first day of the semester?"

"I, uhh." He stutters.

"You don't have to answer that." Emily continues. "You're kids. If you wanna have fun you can have fun. If you wanna have fun together then go for it."

Your chat mellows out while you eat, and afterward, your roommate offers to show you and Jake all of the academic buildings on campus. Your walk takes not much more than an hour, but you know where all of your classes (and Jake's) are. It even turns out you'll be in the same chemistry class this semester.

When you end up back near the dining hall, you are about ready to call it quits and head back to the dorms with Emily when she speaks up. "I don't know what you both were planning on doing tonight, but I have an idea for something we could do together."
