Chapter 4
by bsnick
Off to the date you go... or does something pop up before then?
Jacob takes you to a magic act
As it turns out Jacob doesn't pick you up. Instead you arrive at the location and find that he's already there, waiting outside.
"A restaurant!" you chirp happily, and put a little extra sway into your walk as you head towards him. Unfortunately he has his back turned, but the guy he's talking to sure notices. Dressed in a fancy suit, maybe a tux, you wonder if he's the maitre de or something. You're not familiar with fancy restaurants, what with your parents being poor and you living in a trailer park.
Clued in to your presence by the man's reaction Jacob turns, a smile on his face. You try for a kiss, but Jacob yet again avoids lip-on-lip contact. Another imperfection - besides his lousy sex skills - is that he's a germaphobe. After your first attempted kiss he lectured you on the germs people could pass back and forth. It should have made you a little more sympathetic toward his view of kissing being bad, but instead it made you want to kiss even more. Then there was the whole condom issue. You've never been against condoms in the past - you used them even though you've been on the pill for awhile. But Jacob insists on condoms to such a degree that you've come to loath the things.
"Hey Jenny, this is my friend, Matt," he says, and you realize that he's dressed up almost as much as Matt.
"Was... Is this fancy dress?" you ask, feeling all of a sudden that your outfit is much much too small. And trashy.
"Oh, some people are, but most aren't," Jacob assures you, patting you on the lower back. It's weird, but you almost wish he'd pat your butt. The size difference, however, pretty much prevents that without him slouching over. Shaking off the thought you look at the people going in the front doors and realize that they're dressed up as well. Maybe not to Jacob's level - they probably weren't rich - but you're definitely not dressed as classy as them.
"I, uh... they look a lot more dressed than I am," you say more quietly.
"I love how little you're wearing. They don't look at all as sexy as you. Right Matt?"
You cringe a little at him asking his friend, and at his interpretation of your words.
"Absolutely," Matt says, but doesn't leer, thankfully. "Hey, I've got to go and make sure I'm ready. I already set up inside, but I always do double-checks. I got you tickets, but I'm afraid you'll be seated in the back. Still, it's not a big place," he shrugs, then turns to walk around the corner.
Jacob holds onto the tickets and motions you to the door.
"How do you know Matt?" you ask at last, giving in to your curiosity.
"Oh, we've known each other since we were kids."
"Really? Is he rich too?"
"Rich? Oh. Well, he's well off, at any rate," he says, and opens the door for you.
"So... what does he do?"
"A little of this, a little of that."
You shoot him a dirty look and he grins, then puts the tickets into a jar sitting in front of a large man reading a book. Or maybe a comic.
"He's a magician. Well, he prefers a more technical term, especially since he incorporates hypnotism into his act."
"Hypnosis," you scoff. "So you're going to volunteer to make the audience believe in that junk?"
Jacob grins even wider as he ushers you to a table at the read.
"Nope. I'm going to volunteer you!"
"What? There's no way I'm pretending to be hypnotized, even if he is your friend."
"Oh, don't worry about that. If he can't hypnotize you that's fine. It's all part of the act anyway."
The two of you sit and chat for a few minutes until a waiter comes along. It isn't as fancy a place as you thought it would be, and the people dressed up are the ones that look out of place. That brings a smile to your lips, and you almost miss Jacob ordering.
"Steak for me. Salad for the hottie across the table."
"What? Oh, um... thanks," you say, slumping a little in disappointment before straightening up. If there was one thing you were taught by your neighbor - a frequent baby-sitter and dance trainer - was posture, and trying to look desirable at all times. Lately you've been on the diet called 'no money'. You'd been hoping that a restaurant would mean a real meal. Never one to protest you stay silent. Besides, Jacob's pretty stingy for a rich guy. Or liberal, depending on who you ask. He usually orders separate bills.
It isn't long before Matt comes out onto the stage to polite applause. As he goes through his routine you notice that most people aren't paying attention. It seems that they're here for the food, not the entertainment. You aren't all that interested in either, and decide to see if you can entice Jacob. It's unfair how cool and relaxed he is. Doesn't he have sexual needs too? Admittedly, he came four times and you're still seeking a single orgasm after a month of dating. You feel almost as if you could get off by humping the corner of the chair. Since you've never been able to self-pleasure yourself satisfactorily you refrain. Besides, there's that whole thing of you being in a public place.
"He'll be doing the hypnosis section after a few tricks," Jacob says, watching the stage like he's enjoying himself, even looking forward to the fake hypnosis.
You roll your eyes, then ponder a clever idea that occurs to you. True, your clever ideas often lead to sticky - literally - situations, but you're sure this one won't go wrong. Maybe you can kill two birds with one stone - satisfy your desires and avoid the charlatan. All it would take is enticing him into a back room. Maybe a little footsie or something would get him in the mood.
Try to avoid the hypnosis segment? If so, how?
