Jack brings Lacy somewhere...

Lacy was worried that she would have to wait a long time for Jack to show up, or even that he wasn't coming at all. She wouldn't put it past him to play a mean joke on her like that. It turned out that he didn't have to worry, though, because a red car pulled up beside her at 3:03 PM. Through the window, she could see Jack's face. It wasn't as nice a car as she would have expected. Just a normal sedan. But at least she didn't have to worry about some weirdo picking her up off of the side of the road.

Well, some *other* weirdo picking her up.

"Hey, get in," Jack said, not politely but not rudely either. It wasn't the welcome she had hoped for after everything he had seen from her, but she did as she was told anyway, running around to the passenger side of her car. She was thankful for the heat and the seat-warmer, at least.

"Hey," she said.

"Hey," said Jack. He put his foot on the gas and peeled away from the streetcorner that she had been told to meet him on. Lacy wondered why he had even bothered to direct her there if they would be leaving right away. "So, the job I originally thought you'd be good for is gone. Sorry, you should've jumped on it sooner." He liked telling her that, she knew.

"So... what am I doing here?" she said. She gave him a dirty look. "You aren't going to ask me to go down on you, are you?"

Jack laughed. "No, I'm not going to ask you to go down on me. But I do have something a little crazy planned."
