Everyone's eyes turn to look at Shelly, who smiles around the table before turning back towards Emma. "Well, James is going to want to watch the football all night, and it'd be good to catch up with Monica again too." she finally said.

"Of course." Emma says with a grin. "I'm sure she'd love to catch up with you too. The more the merrier I expect."

Sam looks nervously between Emma and Shelly, unable to read the looks on their faces and uncertain exactly what was going on.

The group quickly finish their meal and Lauren and Phina begin to tidy away the plates, before Emma finally approaches Sam. "Are you ready to head off?"
